Artists and their Crafts

(Updated 5-14-08) Art by William Case and we would like to welcome John Giumarra with his unique form of Iron Art and Sherry Giumarra with her resurrection of the ancient art of rug braiding and Todd Sargood with his contempory art.

We will be updating this page frequently. We will be listing artists and their crafts on this page. The artists are available through the CBBIC™ for training in their respective skills and if you wish to support their type of art, donations to the 501(c)(3) will go specifically to the type of art that the donor may request. The CBBIC has the right to accept or reject all requests. In most cases donations will support training classes in that form of art but it may take many different avenues because of the diversity of the art world.

Our goal is to support the development of Upstate artists and their skills and assist them in developing viable companies.
We currently have three artists that are shown on this page with photographs of their art work and we have added a link to our fourth artist Todd Sargood from New Paltz who has his own Web site and slide show. Todd specializes in contemporary art.

I would like to introduce you to William Case.

William Case (Ohio Wesleyan University BA, BFA 1961)

Artist’s Statement:

I feel it is unfortunate that today a piece of art is often looked at as a kind of Rorschach to psychoanalyze either the viewer or the artist or both – or a hide-and-seek guessing game of “what do you think the artist is saying?”. The art and the artist are separate. The piece must stand on its own and make its own connections.

Bill has had 23 shows of his art work mostly in Eastern New York State. We are very pleased to present to you three of his finest art work.

Here are some of the steps that Sherry Giumarra goes through to create an old fashion hand made rug.

Here is just a small number of John Giumarra’s art work hanging in the Valley Artisan’s Market in Cambridge NY.

Their web site is www.valleyartisansmarket.com

The didjeridu holder that is shown on the bottom left of the home
page is an example of his skills.

He currently is designing gates and stair railings for exclusive homes.
He needs a business partner to handle the affairs of business so he can
focus on creating his unique form of art.

In all cases, the artists make the final decision to become involved in a project or
to reject a project.
